FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).
Q1. What type of work does Popinjay deliver, what does it cost and what are the payment conditions?
A. To date the type of projects we have completed include
- Executive coaching at Board Level
- Proposition development
- Development of sales strategies aimed at developing new markets
- Creation and execution of Marketing strategies
- Enhanced account management to increase existing revenues
- HR and Finance outsourcing for SMEs
- Project Management of a diverse range of projects
- Full range of administration support reducing both fixed and variable costs
- Market research and surveys.
With regard to cost, we assess each project on a case by case basis and do not offer or provide "off the shelf" solutions. We also have to consider whether the work might be a one-off, short or long term assistance project - or even a combination of all three scenarios. Consequently we do not have a fixed price list or scale of charges or fees. What we can definitely say is that we continually strive to meet our primary objective - i.e. to provide high quality but competitively priced services to the business community.
Standard payment terms are 7 days from receipt of our invoice.
Q2. How is Popinjay funded?
A. We take a small percentage fee, again assessed on a case by case basis, from each project to cover operational expenses, staff salaries and miscellaneous overheads.
Part of that fee is ploughed back into what lies behind our primary objective - and that is to promote the potential of workers, especially older or mature workers, in our society. At some future point, and for some special cases, we may seek some public or private financial support to further advance this goal. In the meantime while we cannot say we are a "not for profit organisation", we can and do say profit is not the primary objective here - but, pragmatically, it is the means to stay in business and we mean to do just that in order to promote our goal.
Q3. Who's behind Popinjay?
A. See About Us page.
Q4. How does Popinjay work?
A. If you believe we could be of service to you we would be delighted to arrange a meeting. At the meeting we will gather detailed information regarding your business and the particular problem you are attempting to address. Next you will receive a short proposal detailing exactly how we will address the issue in question, a full cost breakdown and a simple time lined project plan. We appreciate that you would not make the decision to work with us lightly and hence we can provide a full range of references to put your mind at ease.
Q5. What is an engagement like?
A. In a word "painless". We will manage all aspects of the project ensuring you are free to get on with your job. Our associates are fully vetted and trained and you will have the chance to review their CVs, references and to meet them before they start. We can work either in your office or remotely dependent on the task in hand. Each week you will receive a status report detailing our progress, any identified issues and the necessary corrective actions as required. At the end of the project we are delighted to perform a skills transfer to your staff if you deem this appropriate.
